Lyda M. Locke Scholarship

Scholarships Available: Up to two $1,000 scholarships annually. Scholarship winners receive a one-time award.

Objective:

Lyda M. Locke Scholarship awards two high school seniors pursuing undergraduate studies in business, finance, or banking a $1,000 scholarship to honor the inspiration Lyda M. Locke is to her family. 

Eligibility:

Must be or have been a participant in a Junior Achievement (JA) high school classroom program, graduating from a high school within Dane County, and pursuing post-secondary education in the fields of business, finance, or banking toward an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.

Aprilaire: Vernon J. Hellebrand Memorial Scholarship 

Now accepting 2026 applications! Graduates from Dane County schools are invited to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be eligible for graduation from a school in Dane County, WI. Applicants must be pursuing course studies in business, finance or entrepreneurship. Applicants must be eligible for admission to an accredited technical school or college where the student will pursue courses toward an Associate or Bachelor's Degree.

Awards:

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,500 award. Up to two awards will be granted each year. Awards are for undergraduate study for one year only and are not renewable. The award will be paid in two installments of $750 at the beginning of each semester and upon verification of enrollment. The checks will be mailed to the school on behalf of the student.
